Korematsu-Takai Civil Liberties Protection Act of 2025

Supporting the designation of January 30, 2025, as Fred Korematsu Day of Civil Liberties and the Constitution.

Fred Korematsu Congressional Gold Medal Act of 2025

To amend title 38, United States Code, to authorize a joint scholarship program under which the Secretary of Veterans Affairs pays for medical education of an officer of the commissioned corps of the Public Health Service at the Uniformed Services University in return for a period of obligated service by such officer at a medical facility of the Department of Veterans Affairs, and for other purposes.

To amend title 38, United States Code, to modify authorities relating to the collective bargaining of employees in the Veterans Health Administration.

Condemning Uganda’s undemocratic human rights regression.

To amend title 38, United States Code, and the United States Housing Act of 1937, to make certain improvements to the supported housing program for veterans commonly known as HUD-VASH.

Supporting the goals and ideals of the Rise Up for LGBTQI+ Youth in Schools Initiative, a call to action to communities across the country to demand equal educational opportunity, basic civil rights protections, and freedom from erasure for all students, particularly LGBTQI+ young people, in K–12 schools.

To amend title 38, United States Code, to authorize the use of Department of Veterans Affairs work-study allowance to carry out casework, policy making, and oversight related to the activities of the Department at certain congressional offices.

To prohibit the use of trade secrets privileges to prevent defense access to evidence in criminal proceedings, provide for the establishment of Computational Forensic Algorithm Testing Standards and a Computational Forensic Algorithm Testing Program, and for other purposes.

To amend title 38, United States Code, to direct the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to improve equitable access to certain benefits under the laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs and to improve certain outreach to individuals who served uniformed services and dependents of such individuals, and for other purposes.

To amend title 38, United States Code, to provide for a definition of establishment, determination, or adjustment of employee compensation for purposes of the collective bargaining of certain Department of Veterans Affairs employees.

To establish the Commission on Equity and Reconciliation in the Uniformed Services.

To amend title 38, United States Code, to clarify the employment and reemployment rights of members of the uniformed services to other law.

To amend title 38, United States Code, to provide for the automatic enrollment of eligible veterans in patient enrollment system of Department of Veterans Affairs, and for other purposes.

To rename the Office of Technology Assessment as the Congressional Office of Technology, to revise the functions and duties of the Office, and for other purposes.

To provide benefits for noncitizen members of the Armed Forces, and for other purposes.

Expressing support for the designation of the day of June 19, 2023, to commemorate and celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the Specially Adapted Housing Grant Program.

To prohibit discrimination on the basis of sex, gender identity, and sexual orientation, and for other purposes.

To require records of the national instant criminal background check system to be retained for at least 90 days.
