RESPECT Act of 2025

Condemning the assassination of Charlie Kirk and honoring his life and legacy.

To provide that no Federal funds may be obligated or expended to award a grant or contract to an institution of higher education for the specific purposes of conducting fundamental research in collaboration with a covered entity.

To designate September 9, 2025, as National World War II Italian Campaign Remembrance Day, and to recognize the sacrifices made by American and Allied soldiers who liberated Italy from German occupation during World War II.

Federal Disaster Tax Relief Act of 2025

To redesignate the Department of Defense the Department of War.

To require the Secretary of the Treasury to designate certain covered organizations as Foreign Financial Threat Organizations, and for other purposes.

To reauthorize the Trafficking Victims Protection Act of 2000, and for other purposes.

To amend the Bank Holding Company Act of 1956 to generally permit holding merchant banking investments of up to 15 years.

Designating August 16, 2025, as National Airborne Day.

To direct the Secretary of Commerce to submit a report assessing vulnerabilities to the electric grid in the United States from certain Internet-connected devices and applications, and for other purposes.

To permit State, local, and Tribal law enforcement agencies and grantees that receive eligible Federal grant funds to use such funds for investigating elder financial fraud, pig butchering, and general financial fraud, and to clarify that Federal law enforcement agencies may assist State, local, and Tribal law enforcement agencies in the use of tracing tools for blockchain and related technology, and for other purposes.

To establish requirements for quality and discard date phrases that are voluntarily declared on the food label to display calendar dates.

To amend the Federal Reserve Act to strike a provision relating to earnings on balances, and for other purposes.

To prohibit the Administrator of the Small Business Administration from directly making loans under the 7(a) loan program, and for other purposes.

Condemning Nicolás Maduro and the Venezuelan regime’s continued human rights abuses, political repression, and dismantling of democratic institutions, and recognizing the resilience of the Venezuelan democratic opposition under the leadership of Maria Corina Machado and Edmundo González.
