Section 1
1. Report regarding failed assassination attempt on the life of Donald J. Trump Not later than 7 days after the date of enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Homeland Security shall submit a report that contains any and all information in the possession of the Department of Homeland Security or any of its components, including the United States Secret Service, relating to the failed assassination attempt on the life of Donald J. Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13, 2024, to— the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs of the Senate; and the Committee on Oversight and Accountability and the Committee on Homeland Security of the House of Representatives.

1. Report regarding failed assassination attempts on the life of Donald J. Trump Notwithstanding the information already provided by the Secretary of Homeland Security to the appropriate congressional committees, not later than 7 days after the date of enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Homeland Security, or a designee, shall submit to the appropriate congressional committees a report that contains any and all information in the possession of the Department of Homeland Security or any of its components, including the United States Secret Service, relating to the failed assassination attempts on the life of Donald J. Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13, 2024, and in West Palm Beach, Florida, on September 15, 2024, including— the motives, methods, and actions of the suspects; requests for additional resources or protective measures for Donald J. Trump or his campaign; preparations for the event in Butler, Pennsylvania, by the United States Secret Service and other law enforcement entities; and responses by United States Secret Service and other law enforcement entities to the attempted assassinations. The report required under subsection (a) shall be submitted in unclassified form, but may include a classified annex. In this section, the term appropriate congressional committees means— the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs and the Committee on the Judiciary of the Senate; and the Committee on Homeland Security, the Committee on the Judiciary, and the Task Force on the Attempted Assassination of Donald J. Trump of the House of Representatives. Nothing in this Act shall be construed to require that Congress enact legislation to require the executive branch to expeditiously comply with official requests for information made by a Member of the Senate or House of Representatives, or the staff of such a Member.
