Section 1
1. Short title This Act may be cited as the HIV Medication Access Act.
Section 2
2. Modification of prevention activities for
assistance to combat HIV/AIDS Section 104A(d) of the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961 (22 U.S.C. 2151b–2(d)) is amended— in paragraph (1)— in the matter preceding subparagraph (A), by inserting , which shall be considered to be core life-saving humanitarian assistance, before including; in subparagraph (J), by striking the period at the end and inserting a semicolon; in subparagraph (K)(viii), by striking the period at the end and inserting ; and; and by adding at the end the following: assistance to provide HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) medications. in paragraph (2)— subparagraph (D), by adding and at the end; and in subparagraph (E), by striking the semicolon at the end and inserting a period; and in paragraph (3)(A)— by inserting , including at-risk populations in accordance with a scientific-based analysis designated by the World Health Organization, after specific populations; by striking efforts to reduce the risk of HIV/AIDS infection including and inserting efforts to reduce the risk of HIV/AIDS infection, which shall be considered to be core life-saving humanitarian assistance, including pre- and; and by inserting , which shall be considered to be core life-saving humanitarian assistance before the period at the end. (L) assistance to provide HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) medications.
