Section 1
That the House of Representatives— recognizes the importance of American patriotism and its examples throughout history; recognizes the contributions of all Americans, past and present, who have preserved America’s patriotic principles through service and sacrifice; starting with our founding fathers declaration of independence from Great Britain on July 4, 1776; encourages individuals, schools, organizations, and communities across the United States to observe the month with appropriate ceremonies, activities, and educational initiatives that celebrate American history, values, and civic responsibility; supports the designation of American Patriotism Month; and requests that the President issue an annual proclamation designating American Patriotism Month.
