Section 1
1. Short title This Act may be cited as the Promoting Diplomacy with Australia Act.

2. Report on United States mission in Australia Not later than 30 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Assistant Secretary of State for East Asia and Pacific Affairs shall submit to the appropriate congressional committees a report on the current capacity and ability of the United States Mission in Australia, including through the International Cooperative Administrative Support Services system, to manage and provide sufficient administrative and operational support to all United States government personnel under the authority of the head of the United States Mission in Australia as chief of mission. The report required by subsection (a) shall also include the following: Details regarding increases in staffing and operations for planned mission growth from 2025 to 2030. Details regarding the interagency’s growth in Australia. Details regarding the additional administrative and operational support systems necessary to meet the growth trajectories described pursuant to paragraphs (1) and (2). An analysis of resource gaps that could undermine mission capacity and United States objectives, including advancing the United States-Australia alliance and AUKUS security partnership. A recommendation for additional facilities, staffing, and resources needed to execute on critical mission growth. An analysis of the additional funding required to meet the recommendations described in paragraph (5). The report required by subsection (a) shall be submitted in unclassified form and may include a classified annex.
