Section 1
1. Short title This Act may be cited as the U.S.-Taiwan Defense Innovation Partnership Act.

2. Strategic partnership on defense industrial priorities between the United States and Taiwan The Secretary of Defense shall seek to establish a partnership between the Department of Defense and appropriate counterparts of Taiwan in order to— enhance market opportunities for United States-based and Taiwan-based defense technology companies; bolster Taiwan’s defense industrial base; harmonize global security posture through emerging technology; counter the Chinese Communist Party and Chinese Communist Party-aligned adversarial proxy group development of dual-use defense technologies; and in coordination with appropriate counterpart offices of the Taiwan Ministry of National Defense— enable coordination on defense industrial priorities; streamline emerging defense technology research and development; create more pathways to market for defense technology startups; and collaborate on the coordinated development of dual-use defense capabilities, such as the following: Drones. Microchips. Directed energy weapons. Artificial Intelligence. Missile technology. Intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance technology.
