1. Short title This Act may be cited as the Community Facilities Program for Rural Clean School Bus Infrastructure Act.

2. Essential community facilities Section 306(a) of the Consolidated Farm and Rural Development Act (7 U.S.C. 1926(a)) is amended by adding at the end the following: In this paragraph, the term clean school bus has the meaning given the term in section 741(a)(3) of the Energy Policy Act of 2005 (42 U.S.C. 16091(a)(3)). With respect to direct loans and grants made under the essential community facilities programs authorized under this subsection, a recipient of such a loan or grant may use the loan or grant funds for— acquisition and labor costs for charging or other infrastructure needed to charge or maintain clean school buses; and planning and technical activities to support the adoption and deployment of clean school buses. There are authorized to be appropriated for the cost of loans and grants to carry out this paragraph such sums as are necessary.
