Section 1
1. Short title This Act may be cited as the Healthy Lunch for Healthy Kids Act.
Section 2
2. Nutritional and other requirements Section 9(a)(1)(A) of the Richard B. Russell National School Lunch Act is amended— in clause (i), by striking and at the end; in clause (ii), by striking the period at the end and inserting ; and; and by adding at the end the following: shall prohibit— ultraprocessed foods (as described in group 4 of the NOVA classification system); and foods containing— potassium bromate; propylparaben; titanium dioxide; brominated vegetable oil; yellow dye 5; yellow dye 6; blue dye 1; blue dye 2; green dye 3; red dye 3; or red dye 40. (iii)shall prohibit—
(I)ultraprocessed foods (as described in group 4 of the NOVA classification system); and (II)foods containing—
(aa)potassium bromate; (bb)propylparaben;
(cc)titanium dioxide; (dd)brominated vegetable oil;
(ee)yellow dye 5; (ff)yellow dye 6;
(gg)blue dye 1; (hh)blue dye 2;
(ii)green dye 3; (jj)red dye 3; or
(kk)red dye 40..
